First Skating Competition

With only 3months of training you were able to participate in the competition.  This was an effort to get you interest into the sport when you shyed away from it.  It was a saturday event.  Both of us were up and ready early in the morning.  You were not sent by the van (only participants) arranged by your Sir.  I and Dad accompanied you till the venue.  It was Kamla Vihar Sports Club in Kandivali.

There were many children of various groups all set for an event.  Most of them were accompanied by their mothers.  The excitement was no less an any olympics.  The racing was good.  Though you did not fall you faired well by standing 3rd.  All your friends performed much better in their age group but then they have been doing for so long.  You are only a couple of months into it.  Next time we will work harder.

Some of your skating friends are Chinmay, Vardhan, Resham, Shubangi, Nishit, Raagav & Shreyas.  Here are some of the snaps.

Janmasthami is over. .. Independence day is here.  Event to be dressed as a freedom fighter and say 4 lines. We decided on Sarojini Naidu and dressed you up in the saree.  The saree was brought last year during Independence day for your Jhansi Lakshmi Bhai role.  The saree draped perfectly this year.  I had thought you 4 lines "My name is Dhriti Gajjala My role is Sarojini Naidu I write poems I love you India Jai Hind" All the rehearsals were perfect but then you did not say anything in the school.  I don't know why? anyways i am very happy the way your costume turned out.

Water Animal

I and your Dad love to be in water.  Though i don't know to swim and he just manages to swim to survive.  You have been a water animal from the begining.  When you were 1 and 1/2 old and we had taken you out to a resort in Arnala, you refused to see us in the fear of being taken out of water.  Your are still the same.  You just get pulled into the pool or into the sea.  So we are planning to start your swimming sessions soon but before that wanted to try out some sessions.  After all the research we found the only 2 good pools in mira road are in Asmita club and GCC club.  Both coach only for a month.  GCC pool is a bigger one and will not let you in untill you are 7yrs.  So here are a couple of pictures from the Asmita Pool a couple of weeks ago.

Monaco biscuit toppings - First delicacy by Dhriti

As mentioned earlier, I let you try the monaco biscuit topping yesterday evening.  Was a wholesome snack in the evening.  I just boiled the potatoes for you and then you setup your floor and started to work.  Your little hands filling in the little biscuits with potatoes, onions, tomatoes and sev was a sight to watch.  I will cherish it for ever.  Dad, Grandma and Grandpa all enjoyed it.  I was fasting :( so could not taste but today morning grandma made some for me to. Here are a few pictures captured - Chef Dhriti
